The Kentucky Colonel List is non-exhaustive list and enumerates less than 1% of the Kentucky Colonels in the world today. The most famous Kentucky Colonels are the ones that manage to use their title in their everyday careers and occupations; as well as those that manage to become recognized as "Colonel" among their friends, family, in business, and among admirers. Call me Colonel, not Mister or Miss!
The Kentucky Colonel Commission, bestowed by the Governor, is the highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth (Generals do not outrank Colonels in Kentucky). Since 1775, over 500,000 individuals have been recognized with the "Honorable" title making them Colonels, Admirals, Captains and Ambassadors, yet the true meaning, origin, and historical context of these titles has been obscured by organizations like the Knights of Pythias and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels with falsely creating origins to repurpose the title with contemporary values in seeking to exploit the narrative with their own ideas, origins, and reasoning.
This meticulously curated list features a select group of Kentucky Colonels whose appointments are publicly documented through Wikipedia, news media, or mainstream social media. It represents a mere fraction (one in one thousand) of the total number of commissioned Colonels, highlighting the exclusivity and prestige of this honor.

In essence the governor within Kentucky has granted you the ability to do anything at all that is not unlawful in the state, that should not require any Federal oversight.
