What is a Kentucky Colonel?

A Kentucky Colonel is a man or woman that has been bestowed upon them, the Honorable Title by the Governor of Kentucky. It is as much a very popular title today as it was 200 years ago. The Kentucky Colonel is an iconoclast for the ideal of the Commonwealth. The first person known to have been commissioned a colonel for Kentucky is Daniel Boone when he built the Wilderness Road in 1775, he is credited today by many as Kentucky's architect, pioneer, and visionary.
